My Summery Tilda.............cool off a sea breeze

Good evening peeps I'm trying out different mediums at the moment, usually as you know I'm a big fan of Promarkers.....I still am..but I want to be able to use other mediums also so I dont have to rely on 1 if that makes any sense. I see different blogs all using dif technics etc & each & every 1 of them are fab, I especially love the look of distress ink & Prisma pencils on Magnolia's Tilda & Edwin........ Well I've done 1 so far using Distress Inks which is on my other blog cus I forgot to put it on this 1........I'm still getting used to having 2 blogs lol. Also for some reason I cant get my link to my other blog working, its probably me doing something wrong, my dizzy brain does go haywire at times & misfuntions lol. http://www.stickywithicky.blogspot.com/ here is the link if any1 would like to pop over & look around. Right where was I.............oh yeah thats it, I've now used 2 mediums altho the distress inks I still need plenty of practice but eventually it will get better(I hope!!!!). Tonight I have done a card with a Tilda image coloured with Prisma colours & using Sansodor.....I really enjoyed using this medium & I found it really easy, the easiest out of all of them actually not to say though that I'm still learning & still have plenty to learn but I didn't make a bad start. I've also got Derwent pencils as well but I'm struggling getting the right skin tone colour with them & have not used them except for an hour when they 1st arrived!!!!
I have made a card for 2 challenges....1 is Sir Stamp A Lot whose challenge is Lazy Hazy Days of Summer. Well I am originally from Stoke-On-Trent, I was born & bred there but my dad was originally from Northumberland so when my parents divorced & my dad remarried they decided to make a fresh start up in Northumberland to cut a long story short me & my family moved up to & for the last 10 years have lived by the sea. So my idea of summer is lovely warm sun with a gentle cool sea breeze..........hence the colours I've used on my card below......

I love this Tilda I think she is adorable, a pretty little lady who needs a pretty umbrella to stop the sun from burning her!!! The 2nd challenge is Cute Card Thursday & their challenge is School's out for Summer.....you can interpret this as cards for teachers or summer colours & images. Well to me this is summery in a different cool way.....it has been so warm & sticky this year that we have been pleading for some cooler weather, well what could be more cooler than pretty blue's with a tiny hint of warm red....
Here is a close-up of Tilda coloured with those Prisma pencils......

I'm not quite sure if you can see but there is stickle glitter around the edge of her pretty umbrella, she also has a bit of sprinkling of glitter over her but it was hard to catch this in the camera.

The ingredients for this card are papers are from K&Co, its from their Big Stack of 360 sheets... there are SOOOO many gorgeous papers in the pack that I am ALWAYS spoilt for choice. The flowers & butterfly I got from Ebay as to the Broderie Anglaise. The sentiment was from a craft shop about 18 months ago when I 1st tried card making. I distress the card with Tumbled Glass distress ink before adding any papers, I also did the same with every layer that went underneath K&Co paper. I wanted to keep it summery but a bit lady like too as I think Tilda deserves that on this image......she looks so pretty dont you think????
I think thats it, I hope you like this card & if any1 has any tips about colouring with different mediums I really am all ears....I will take any advice I can get. Thank you for taking the time to visit me & a big big big thank you for your lovely comments I appreciate all of them with all my heart.
Also a great big MAHOOSIVE thank you to my followers who have come over from my other blog.....I love you all & your are all my stars twinkling down on me guiding me with your wonderful creations, you all really give me inspiration to do better, you are all VERY talented & I very much admire all of your work big hugs for you all <>
Well TTFN for now as they say up here I'm howay to put my heed on my pillow lol.

Take care everyone, lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

My Magical World of Magnolia: Straight Through The Heart

My Magical World of Magnolia: Straight Through The Heart: "Hello all you lovely crafters welcome to my additional blog site solely dedicated to Magnolia. I have a serious addiction to Magnolia, I wil..."

Straight Through The Heart

Hello all you lovely crafters welcome to my additional blog site solely dedicated to Magnolia. I have a serious addiction to Magnolia, I will buy stamps whenever I can, even my hubby encourages me to buy them he has just ordered me 10 new 1s from Sir Stamp A Lot for my birthday.....isn't he just FAB..... mmwah love you babe!!! Anyway I thought I would create a new blog for my erm....ickle addiction...let me introduce you to my little friends who cheer me up on a daily basis, come on down Tilda & Edwin....well actually its just Tilda at the mo, Edwins still in bed lol.

They have been coloured with my Promarkers but I am also starting to use Prismacolor pencils & I'm starting to paint them using my Tim Holtz distress inks. After seeing the effects other crafters get using these mediums I thought it would be nice if I could use different mediums & then be able to have a choice what I use!! The papers are K&Co...another 1 of my addictions, I brought a stack of them from Hobbycraft at the weekend...there are 360 12x12 sheets in the stack all for £29.99....bargain I thought. I've decided it would be nice to decorate the insides of my cards just because I've seen a lot of you do that & it just adds that lovely professional touch. The inside I distressed with with Antique Linen & Forest Moss & then randomly placed paper inside that matched the outside. I used my cuttlebug to emboss the Journaling block & cut it out, I also cut out the small tag & stamped it with a stamp from my stash. All embellishments are from my stash what I've had for a while now. I think thats it folks.....I mainly did this card for fun because I found that I still hadn't used my Khaki Promarker & thought this Tilda would be perfect in that colour, so there are no challenges I'm entering with this 1. Its just a quick, simple fun card!!
Thankyou SO much for visiting it really means a lot, if you have the time why not leave a message & I will then pop in on you, I read every single 1 of my messages, they make my day. Take care every1.

Lotsa hugs Vicky xx
